Food Heroes

This year’s World Bread Awards may have been postponed, but you can still shine a spotlight on the unsung stars of the Covid-19 crisis.

Organisers now aim to recognise the UK’s Bread Heroes, and are asking for uplifting stories of bakers, millers, and farmers who have been doing their bit during the pandemic – whether donating bread to the homeless, biking bread out to the elderly and isolated in their community, or turning cafes into dark kitchens for home delivery and more.

Nominees will be judged on their impact on their community, their reach, how they may have innovated, their generosity of spirit or their care for the wellbeing of others.

There will be regional Bread Hero winners and one overall winner will be crowned “Tiptree World Bread Awards Hero with Brook Food 2020”.

For more information or to make a nomination visit here. All the winners will be announced during an Online Awards Evening on Tuesday 13 October.
